Weird Food Combinations That You Like
#17
Peanut butter goes well with all sorts of poultry and meats. I don't make soup often but one of my favorites is peanut soup with chicken, onions, bell peppers, carrots, and finely diced or powdered chile peppers. It is good with a chicken stock base and even better with a rich creamy base.

Combining peanut butter and other nuts such as cashews and almonds is more common in ethnic cuisines such as Indian, Thai, and Caribbean dishes, but some of my favorite foods include nuts with chicken or meat.

When I cook savory dishes like chili and stews, I often add a tablespoon or two of Marmite. Marmite by itself tastes nasty to me, but it enhances the flavor of dishes by adding an unami flavor. A jar of Marmite keeps on the shelf for a very long time. If you buy a jar don't let it's nasty taste dissuade you from cooking with it. Add a little to a pot of chili and simmer. Your chili will taste better and you will not taste the Marmite.

I also like the flavor of hot peppers paired with fruits like ripe mangoes and peaches. Sprinkling a little cayenne powder on fresh sliced mangoes makes a great healthy snack. I've never sprinkled it on sherbet but I believe that would be great.
