BC got exactly what Fleming received. The same exact refs called these games. Even the girls games.  It was very obvious in the girls game who was going to dictate the outcome. The same with the boys game. Fleming got it as well. It is a very bad look on Rowan in my opinion to host teams and then play 8 on 5.

Nothing to take away from the girls and boys of Rowan. The kids played hard. They just had help.

Not sure who the third official was but the other two I believe were Sutton and Harris. Two of the most respected officials in Kentucky. I know both personally and they are perfect examples of what high school officials should be. Do they miss calls? Of course. Do they have bias towards one team or another? No way. Boyd simply got outplayed. Own it and you can repair it. Deny it and nothing changes.

Because you know them personally and it coming from you does not help the bias they showed in those games. It dictates outcomes. Ask Fleming as well BC.

I watched the game the reason Boyd lost was not due to the officials it boils down to if Spurlock and Hicks are not shooting really well or getting up a lot of shots from 3 they are just an average team. Spurlock was held 7 points below his average and Hicks was just 3-7 from 3 and only had 9 points. The Vikings did a good job of making Spurlock and Hicks work for every shot the got. These two teams play again in just 8 days once again at Rowan Co.

I watched the game as well. They let Rowan foul and called tic tacs on BC. I will agree Boyd didn’t play great but as a whole shot well. Spur 5/10 and Rardon 7/10 from 3 and 44% as a team. 23pts for Spur and 22 for Rardon. The difference in the game was the foul line. Look who shot more. The girls game was the same way. The Fleming game as well.

Boyd County only had 11 two-point shot attempts. That's why they lost. That's just unheard of.  When you have over three times as many three-point attempts as two-point attempts you're going to lose unless you're shooting lights out. You don't draw many fouls standing at half court. Rowan had 31 two-point attempts (which is still not high but at least on the low side of normal). Good things happen when you take the ball to the basket, namely buckets and/or free throws.

I would agree if it 10-15 years ago. The game has evolved to the three.  Shooting 44+% in a game is high as a team. 3 is worth more than 2. I do agree if you are getting the calls of two hands or pushing on ball defense. You benefit from that. If the refs are not calling that.  It is better to kick and get a three if open. I didn’t see anyone for BC or Fleming standing at half court. Refs just need to be consistent and let kids decide the outcome and not them.

I don't think we're too far apart. To win consistently I do feel Boyd County needs more balance in their shot selection. Also,  I didn't literally mean standing at half court. I was emphasizing you don't get many free throws if you're shooting behind the arc.
