The gauntlet continues early on in conference play, as we have another ranked matchup but this one at Rupp. This makes their 4th conference game and 3 against a ranked opponent and lets be honest Georgia has been on the cusp of cracking the top 25 for a few weeks now and they'll definitely make a big jump after last week.
So another interesting game looms for Kentucky. A&M, a lot like Miss St. relies a lot on their defensive prowess and consistently keep a top 25 ranking in defensive efficiency including this season. We seen how that worked out for both teams on Saturday, as they both ran into elite offensive teams in Kentucky & Alabama who made them both play to their adjusted tempo. I think Kentucky can do the same with A&M, they provide a lot of size and toughness, and great guard play with Wade Taylor (even tho he has been out the last few games) and Phelps, who can score with the best of them in this conference. If Kentucky can yet again control the tempo, or even show the toughness they displayed against MSU, have a great feeling we can pull this one out, but with the SEC we know nothing is easy, I think it will be another high scoring affair.
Kentucky- 88
Texas A&M- 79
No betting odds have been released yet, but the ESPN matchup predictor (for whatever that's worth) gives Kentucky a 60.5% chance to win.
And thank goodness this is the early tip-off on ESPN at 7:00. What's everyone else's thoughts?
