I like Mark Pope.  I prefer him over Cal any day.  Having stated that, ALMOST every successful coach I have ever met had a huge ego and had a bit of a mean streak.  I have never met the man, but Mark Pope doesn't seem to possess those two characteristics.  Do you think he is too down to earth and too nice to win a national championship?
