Why isn’t Floyd central doing better
#23
Holbrook had success at the district level but I just looked and he only won a single game in the regional tournament in his tenure (KHSAA website is weird about coaching stuff sometimes so someone correct me if I'm wrong).
I felt like he had South Floyd going in the right direction when then they consolidated, but it would have been a roll of the dice.
Not saying it woudn't have worked, I'm just saying you had a guy with a All A state ring and some experience at Rupp who applied for it. I think John Noble interviewed too?

The way that entire thing was handled just screamed that the parents and kids were running the program and not the coaches and administrators.
I went to a game at Floyd Central shortly after Kevin stepped down and one of the kids hit a scoring milestone but he didn't want anyone but Kevin to present him the game ball, so Kevin walked out and handed it to him and then left. Just felt like the whole thing was a mess.

Maybe it was a mess and it started with a bad hire? Don't know, but it definitely felt like it was a pretty good representation of the way things were going to go.
