After speaker Johnson agreed to a deal with the democrats and the senate President elect Elon and his chief of staff Trump stepped in and shut the government down. Elon won the president with the smallest popular vote since Gore vs Bush and the smallest house majority ever. And they think they have a mandate.

Then after Johnson could not get Elon's version passed, he had to go back and accept virtually the same version that they had agreed upon originally, which made the GOP look really fractured.  Trump then turns around and takes credit for getting it passed.  Did he not remember that his PM Musk had killed the original or is he hoping that the public doesn't know or care.  I hope it's the latter, but I'm afraid it's the former.  You can't make this stuff up.

It's pretty obvious that Trump has given his biggest campaign contributor the keys to the car.
