College Volleyball Championship

UofL vs Penn State Women's college volleyball national championship.

UofL has got a shot at a national title,  best of luck to them.  If I'm not mistaken,  the game will be at UofL.  So they should have home floor advantage in this one.

Last night I watched the semi finals game between Penn State vs Nebraska. I stumbled upon it while flipping through channels.  Penn St was down two sets.  They came storming back to win three straight to get the win.

I don't know much about volleyball.  Other than playing years back at family reunions and cook outs.  I always enjoyed playing.  I've had a couple of niece's play for school,  I attended some of their games.

While watching last night,  most of the serves were kinda the same.  Just trying to hit different spots on the floor.  I didn't notice any spin on the ball from the serves.  Most of the serves,  the ball didn't seem to have any rotation to it.

Idk the rules of serving.  Looks like if you put some spin on the ball,  it'd be tougher for the opposing team to handle.

Example,  if I was serving  Smile  I'd be using my right hand to hit the ball.  Say,  I'm standing at the right of the net.  When the ball left my left hand,  I'd spin it to the right.  Then with my right hand,  I'd not hit the ball in the center,  but I'd hit it on the right corner. Looks like this would curve the ball over to the far left,  the whole time it's traveling over the net. Then when the opposing team hits the ball,  it'd have a chance of flying into the stands out of bounds.

If I confused you there don't feel bad,  I confused myself,   Big Grin

I guess what I'm trying to say is,  if some spin/rotation is put on the ball during a serve,  it'd be harder for the opposing team to make a clean hit on  Wink
