The football and basketball programs are currently at opposite ends of the spectrum. Our football program is full of excitement and optimism, while our basketball program is on life support. We have never been a powerhouse in basketball, but we are possibly entering the darkest period in Prestonsburg basketball history! If you think it is bad this year, just wait. Keithley will be gone, and the cupboard is empty, and I mean empty. From what I've heard our middle school program isn't very strong, and we don't have a hand full of kids who are underclassmen. I don't have all of the answers, but the most obvious would be starting over with a new, young, enthusiastic coach who can breath some life back in the program.

Pburg has always had some very competitive teams tho, but this team just has no identity, doesn't look to have any sort of competitive spirit about them. It's one thing to play hard and they do, but actually competing and being prepared are another, and that falls on the coach. You can see it that they aren't in the least bit prepared. 

I honestly think if Keathley did leave, it wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing, like you said the cupboard would be bare bones but at least if they're starting over, no need to have 1 player who will get 30 a game but on 25-30 shots. I completely agree that they need to bring in a young, energetic coach who will bring a new perspective into the program, someone out of house but in Floyd Co we all know how that goes.
