I think the setup is wrong.

The First round games should be neutral site bowl games.

The second round games should be home games with the conference winners hosting.

I think 8 team playoff is they way to go. Several mediocre team in this format. Watered down but more $$$ like everything else. The American way.

I dont disagree but 8 doesnt provide conference winners with an advantage (everyone plays in opening round in 8 team format) so then 10 looks silly so you have to do 12. 

14 is where they will stop, im not opposed to it, but I think some of the smaller conference winners (say MAC winner) for example should get a spot.
