So does pikeville schedule the 0-6 gauntlet again that crushes all expectations and causes injuries, or understands the RPI is important?

Now that RPI is here SOS doesn’t mean nearly what it once did. Clearly you need to schedule a few games that test you as a team to help grow but home playoff games are a HUGE advantage along being healthy as possible at playoff time. We’ve all seen years where the best team in a class didn’t necessarily make it to Kroger. So many things need to line up. Pikeville will be fine next season. They’re still Pikeville.

Pikeville will play who ever will play them to fill their schedule and I still believe playing good competition help at the end and yes I know Sayer is the exception to that rule this year but what about last year Raceland clean their clock but I also believe 1A was weaker this year than in most years

Two sorta conflicting comments back to back. SOS is important, but there is plenty of larger schools that will be competitive without crushing them. And playing a gauntlet 6 straight games might be over the top. If Corbin or JC was replaced with someone such as boyd to start the year, i think the season may play out differently. I seen all year where different pikeville posters would talk about injuries, and they were mostly sustained in weeks 1-4. Getting beat up, especially when you are trying to replace 4 lineman that were huge from 2023, might not be the best idea moving forward. Now that doesn’t mean play cupcakes.

Don’t know how you get conflicting statements when I said they played who will schedule them and yes it was a gauntlet of a schedule but injuries can happen in any game and due to the new rating system a lot of teams don’t want to lose to a 1A school and I know it don’t count that way in the first two games plus these small 1A schools are all not in Louisville or Lexington where you can pick up the bigger schools that a 1A team can be competitive with or beat easily and the bowl games are picked for them
