BL has a great MS program. They will have to age quick. Belfry is one game. Playing them will only make them better. Anything less than a winning season will be disappointing. District champs will be forever out of question but win couple playoff games very possible. Transfer portal is always open.

Betsy Layne has seemed to have a solid Middle School program for the past 7-8 years, but it just hasn't seemed to "pan out" at the high school level. I know they had a big year last year, but the level of competition hasn't been great. I know they are winning some games that they would have lost in the past, but you can only hide for so long, before you play a team with a pulse. I'm not knocking the Bobcats and I know our schedule hasn't been great either, but if you are going to be taken seriously, you have to increase the level of competition. 

I feel like next year will be a rebuilding year for the Bobcats. They lose McCutcheon, which is arguably the best player to ever walk the halls at Betsy Layne. Also, they lose another seven or eight starters on both sides of the ball. They do return Parsons, but I don't know how much help he will have around him. Also, it doesn't help that Jarrell is looking for other coaching jobs, in which I don't see anyone hiring him. I have heard Jarrell's father is going to move up from the middle school to the high school if he does stay. I don't know how effective that will be. 

If Betsy Layne is going to compete, their culture has to change and that starts with the Head Coach. I think Jarrell has a good football mind, but he needs to mature. His players only do what they feel they can get by with. If playing dirty is overlooked, praised, or promoted, how do you think the kids are going to act? If you and your coaching staff aren't disciplined, do you think the kids are going to be disciplined? This isn't only a problem at the high school, the middle school teams are coached and play the same way. There are a lot of great up and coming athletes in this program and if things aren't cleaned up, you will see them leave for greener pastures, or the kids who chose to stay will never meet their full potential. Hopefully, things get cleaned up improvements are made.
