[Old School Hound]

I did not watch the game live but rewatched the replay posted from Youtube so it was hard to see the right angle on every flag. But Bull and Glory are spot on. There was definitely a lot of penalties called, and you could argue it may have been even excessive by effecting the flow of the game. However, on rewatch almost every call on Corbin looks spot on except for potentially the two-pass interference calls which were more 50/50. The problem is neither of those flags resulted in any points for Paducah and Corbin lost by 17. They got beat by a good team. They had their chances but didn't make the correct adjustments. The first half they seemed to move the ball pretty well, but PT started sending more and more pressure. For some reason Corbin kind of went away from the screens, swing passes, shallow crosses, and QB runs that worked so well in the 1st half. They were asking Kade Elam to make incredibly difficult plays on every snap. Several plays he was a magician back there avoiding the rush and pulled several rabbits out of the hat, but it wasn't enough.

Now only a few posters has even said anything about this game that are from Corbin. Most have not said a word. So I do want to say, don't let a few speak for the majority. Corbin is a football town. They back their team and not a finer place to go watch a game on a Friday night locally. Lots of great people in Corbin who are just good down to earth fans. So always keep in mind one opinion is just that, just 1 person. Not everyone. I know the boys in red put in hard work just like the other top teams in 4A and I would most definitely love to see them get a title. Salmons has came in and made an immediate impact and Corbin has alot of youth coming up at a good time. I do want to give Tilghman there credit because the game itself like I said was a very good ball game. Tilghman was as good as advertised. I would like to have seen Tilghman and Boyle play. But take nothing away from the game this weekend. Should be a dandy as both teams will get to make their case for the best in 4A. Couple of days to go.

Bull, I couldn't agree more with this message. I would hope a lot more fans and BGR posters would remember this. You can find bad apples in every community, school system, and fan base but you don't judge the entire group based on a few. I have never and will never judge all Corbin fans based on the antics of some posters because I know there are some great people in Corbin. I know their fan base is a fan base that loves their school and their teams. In the same way I would hope that people wouldn't judge my school (JCHS) based on the actions of a few bad fans or based on the constant posts by Old School putting us down Lol. The vast majority of people within Johnson County Schools are people that love their kids, their sports teams, and their community. And I know that our coaches have tremendous respect for our rivals around the state like Ashland, Cov Cath, Franklin Co, Boyle Co, and yes even Corbin. Do we want to desperately beat those teams of course but you should have respect for strong opponents and tip your cap when they beat you. 

In the heat of the moment everybody wants their team to win and sometimes we take things too far because of that.

As my cousin and I have said on here many times, Johnson Central is  ass.  I wouldn't root for them over the Taliban.

Speaking of Salmons, not sure if anyone has mentioned his son going down in the 1st half as being a big factor, but the defense did not seem to be nearly as good after he was injured.  Hopefully that won't affect him going forward.

Good point. He is a great tackler. One of our leading tacklers. Hard hitter, too.

I can't help you with lack of comprehension. I put it all there for you to see, it's very simple. If you won't admit or accept it, fine, but at least I submitted proof. Seems you have a hard time accepting anything in life.

I teach reading comprehension and critical thinking to kids like yours, if they make it out of high school. Football IQ is not exactly one of life's necessities. I probably don't watch a dozen football games a year , HS, college, and pro, combined.  GD point is, many calls are essentially subjective. We see it in every sport at every level. Two officials might very well call the same game in very different ways. You take a different officiating crew calling the same Corbin/PT game in a different venue(say, Campbell Field in Corbin) and I bet 31 penalties wouldn't be called.

But here you are....  with all your great expertise and infinite wisdom on football. Then offering your unsolicited opinion on those games you're not watching. Y-O-U ARE NOT W-A-T-C-H-I-N-G .... This is exactly my point! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

We aren't talking hypothetical situations like all your Boyle Co conversations; we are talking about the Corbin penalties, which you blamed the refs for causing the loss.

From the kicking teams' 40-yard line to the receiving teams' 30-yard line. Not hard to understand. Oh, the travesty, poor Corbin you cried! Has that ever happened you questioned. LOL, happens many times. 
In fact, Logan Co kicked off from Bardstown's 15-yard line in the playoffs just last year. Amazing huh? Yep, three 15-yard penalties after a TD.

Good post. Not everyone in a fanbase is as classy as Old School.  I've made my way around town since last Friday, from the bars to the barber shops, and from the delis to the cat houses. The prevailing opinion on the street here in C-Town is that Corbin got jobbed. At least, that's what they're telling Old School. I don't know how well they break down film, though. They like their Hardees biscuits, though.

Mental illness is alive and well. Unfortunately educated idiots who can not be successful in the real world do not have to pass a psych evaluation to work in 13th grade, aka community colleges.

My concluding thoughts on the Corbin season is that it was a resounding success. Very good season for my Hounds. Most people were saying they'd have at least three or four regular season losses. Corbin had a very entertaining offense , with Elam & Co. Very fun to watch. If I'm entertained, then it was a good season. We didn't play very well , at all, in the semi-final . I wish we had played our best game. Our best game would have had us in position to win. Calpreps had us favored on a neutral field. But that was far from a neutral field. We fought the home field advantage all night long. Corbin has to do a better job winning the RPI game. Losing the RPI battle cost them dearly the last two seasons.

I'm happy with what the team accomplished, and while I think Corbin probably lost the battle of halftime adjustments, I think Salmons did a very good job with the team, considering it was the second week in June before he took over the helm. The future should be bright for the Hounds  with a lot of young talent coming up the ranks. Can't wait til next season. GO FRANKLIN COUNTY!!!Downgrade the Tornado to a F-0.
