When you watch them on film or warming up and they don’t look very big, it leads to overconfidence but they play hard and they bring more than you can block. They tackle well. I think Raceland’s chances rest on their defense and ability to throw it. If they bully Sayre and simply run it repeatedly, it will surprise me.
Your new name is shocked because Raceland isn’t going to throw the ball. If they get behind then you will see them throw it more late in the game but it will be too late. Nobody is underestimating anyone. People are just giving their opinions on a football game.
I understand that and I know they’ll attempt to run it and they should but Pikeville tried that with some very strong young men. They looked slow and hurt because they were but that was still a good team. Someone said Raceland would have put a running clock on them. Please. Someone buy that person a clue. Rams had a one legged Brenden Anthony at Raceland and Pikeville turned it over twice and barely had the ball the second half on Raceland’s home field and the Rams still lost. I think Raceland has a great opportunity but I don’t think it will be because they line up and just bully Sayre. They may prove me wrong but I would be surprised not “shocked”. I think they have to mix it up some and keep Sayre honest and their young QB has to play well. Raceland has a good defense and speed but Sayre will be able to score. Everything in me says a 1 score game either way. First to 21 wins? Sticking with my call Sayre wins. Raceland tends to play tight and play calls are tight in this game but they aren’t looking at Pikeville this time and this is Sayre’s first trip. I just don’t think Pennington the coach blinks and I think they have and will show a couple more wrinkles available out of their sets to get them a few chunk plays. I think it’s hard to stop that offense with the guys they have this year if they play their normal game.
