As far as the pardon,  that could be seen coming from light years away!
Anybody with any sense knew a pardon was coming, but I don't think many people expected a pardon to cover any and all crimes that Hunter has committed for the past 10 years.

For a drunken crack addict, that could include some sickening and violent crimes. Decent people should feel sorry for his victims, who will never see justice done.
