Yes, Ashland can absolutely win state, IMO. They are deep & every kid on the team is skilled. I’m anxious to see how much playing time the South Point transfer, Justin Hughes, gets. He’s only a FR, but, is uber talented & has decent size at 6-2. Really athletic, too. Definite future D1 player, IMO.

The post will once again be their weakness, although they’re bigger this season than they’ve been in recent years with Carter (6-6) & Hoskins (6-5). But, having 7-8 legit perimeter threats will help compensate for the lack of size. They play a seriously challenging schedule, too, & will be prepared for March. And, they will be shooting for their SEVENTH consecutive 16th region title, so, they don’t lack big game experience.

No doubt the football team got humiliated. But, I put that on the coach’s weak, play not to lose game plan more than the players. That was not Ashland football. Those kids aren’t soft. They’ll have something for Corbin, who will have to win this one without the benefit of every call going their way.

There we go---even if true, Corbin could have won that football game with a 200 penalty yard disadvantage. I agree with you, though, I thought the play timid, not to lose strategy , was very disappointing. You can't win a game like that without playing aggressive. Poor strategy on the part of the Ashland braintrusts.

I agree, I wasn’t blaming that loss on officiating. It’s on the coach, IMO. Although, the calls were mostly one sided, IMO. But, it didn’t affect the game nearly as much as Ashland playing/coaching scared. I was referring more to the basketball game these teams played in Corbin last season. Corbin won a close one. I didn’t see the game personally, but, several who did see it said it was bad.
