She makes some very strong points.  I hate to believe that she is right about validating our hate, but sadly that may be true.

It's VERY true. Old School nailed it about 5 years ago. It's all about validating people's long held bigotries, fears, and hatreds.  Validation is a helluva drug, man! I saw how Trump validated my mom's xenophobia. When he told her it is perfectly okay to hate foreigners, he had mom hook, line, and sinker for the rest of her life.
