I think a lot of John, but one could argue, what has he actually done at Magoffin? If I'm not mistaken, this was his fourth year and he has had plenty of time to put his footprint on the program. I get it, it's Magoffin, but I personally thought he would have more success at this point in his tenure. If you look at his tenure, his teams seemed to get worse as time went on. His first season he was 6-4, followed by two 4-6 seasons, and this year they missed the playoffs with a 2-8 record. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Magoffin will find a better person or a better football coach, but being honest, I don't see any big name programs hiring Derossett. I may be wrong, but I feel like John's best days are behind him.

There is a mistake on KHSAA, JD was only at Magoffin for 3. The 6-4 season Gamble was the head coach.

I'm curious if Gamble is interested in coming back. He was there three years (2019-2021) and had 11 wins. Gambles 2019 team had six wins. Which is the best season Magoffin has had in about ten years.  Gamble had big numbers and about all the talent in the building out playing. Secondly, do those six wins in 2021 count toward Coach Derossetts 200 career wins even though Chris Gamble was the coach in 2021?

Oh I’m sure he will be interested agai when his youngest boy gets to high school. He’s also one of those people that has that petition in his barber shop trying to get folks to sign it. I’d say his sight ls are set on coaching the middle school again right now since his boy will be in 7th grade next year. Idk if many of y’all know this or not, but DeRossett made Perkins the middle school coach this season. The middle school practiced with high school every day, NON CONTACT. Perkins tried to juggle his varsity duties and middle school. DeRossett eliminated having 10-11 dads on the sideline. You can see where I’m going with this….

I think so? Are you saying Gamble forfeited his season to John in 2021?
