I think a lot of John, but one could argue, what has he actually done at Magoffin? If I'm not mistaken, this was his fourth year and he has had plenty of time to put his footprint on the program. I get it, it's Magoffin, but I personally thought he would have more success at this point in his tenure. If you look at his tenure, his teams seemed to get worse as time went on. His first season he was 6-4, followed by two 4-6 seasons, and this year they missed the playoffs with a 2-8 record. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Magoffin will find a better person or a better football coach, but being honest, I don't see any big name programs hiring Derossett. I may be wrong, but I feel like John's best days are behind him.

This is my opinion, and I know many others in the community share the same opinion. DeRossett has very little help on his staff. He had Woods, who resigned to spend more time with his family. His OL coach, Perkins, is okay, which I’m pretty sure he is the OC as well. Not a fan of the play calling most of the time, which majority agree. Other than that he has no true position coaches that actually know the position and know what they’re doing. No offense to any of those other guys because I appreciate every minute of their time that they have committed to this program.
