For some reason I thought a dead ball personal foul was an automatic first down? I could be wrong… but that’s what I had in my mind. Either way, there was no way 2nd down was the right call!

PC is a good team. Not sure why everyone was expecting a blowout. They have size, speed, heck of a young QB, and coaching.

NFHS rules has only roughing the QB, holder, snapper, and kicker as automatic 1st down penalties. Definitely think that personal fouls and unsportsmanlike conducts should also carry first downs, but they don’t yet.
