I mean you can look at the large areas where people are near, and you will no doubt find a program nearby that is very familiar with finals appearances. I think no doubt championship wins have more to do with a particular type of coaching staff.  There are some schools who benefit from location and tradition. But not all of these programs win titles because talent is one thing. You definitely have to have talent but that will only take you so far. The xs and os part of it always seem to be the difference when the last games are played every year. Thats a fact. Honestly, I was talking about Belfry and Paducah Tilghman earlier in another thread when Kentucky Mr. Football Isaac Dixon was on Belfry's team that year. I went and watched it. But even that year in that last game, Haywood and his staff made the difference in the clock management and gameplan no doubt to highlight the talent they had on their team. Paducah Tilghman was loaded and looked very every bit as impressive that year. But game plans take teams out of rhythm, learning to play the clock management game, and utilizing talent. Now you think about that for a minute. There will always be some teams who have the talent to win it. But do the have the Coaching staff to get it done. I see that as a big issue with alot of teams. I also see that in teams who may not be competing for a state championship. They may have a talented team to win a district but they can't beat the district rival who wins that title every year because the staff hasn't gotten to that level of game management on all aspects of the game. See it in alot of districts. So to me you could almost make a thread of certain districts with 2 teams and have the same conversation about all of them and at the end of the day it comes down to about the same thing. Politics at the highest level and who they hire. If those guys has the right outlook, you will reap the rewards but if they don't then you will suffer because of it. A coach hire will make or break a team. In all levels across the state.

Corbin 2021.   That bunch had all the skill sets to win a state championship but the coaching staff made a mess out of a season that could have been special. Just a miserable internal mess. Yes, location matters,  but coaching matters, as well. A staff that was focused on winning a title and not egos or personal agendas would have ended a four decade long title drought with that team.
If you don't check the lawnmower gas before you mow. You probably will run out of gas....... Smile Lawnmower gas is that important.
The lawn mower was the problem.
