Boyle County emerged in 1842 as a partition from neighboring Lincoln and Mercer counties. From this moment on, the county was limited in how far west it could extend. Knox County formed out of portions of Lincoln County in 1799, but there was still a good distance between the two sites. Corbin is a city situated amongst three counties: Whitley, Knox, and Laurel. Although originating as Lynn Camp Station, the town became incorporated as Corbin in 1905. At this point, it was far too late to be Boyle County as Kentucky's county borders were pretty well defined. (Sorry OSH, I had to do it). 

In all seriousness, I think a team's success can usually be condensed to three things: geographic location, culture, and a supportive administration. If a team struggles, it is usually because a piece of this puzzle is missing. I'm not from Corbin, so I can't comment specifically on what is wrong with the program or why they aren't achieving what Boyle achieves. I grew up hearing stories about Corbin, and I'm rooting for them to have as much success as possible. I'll go further, if I get to where I go to many games again, I hope to make the trip over to Corbin and see their stadium!

HAHAHAHA, you should definitely check out the stadium when able. they will do a second phase on the stadium at the end of this season that will consist of new visitor stands and press boxes. I've heard the visitor stands will be nice with the a visitor locker room below it.
