If Rock ever wanted to try to throw the ball, this would be the game. I do think Clay has found a system that works with their personnel. Rock, Knox, and Clay will all be fighting for that 2 seed. It’s been a long time since the Tigers beat the red and blue.
Not sure I would agree with you saying Rock is fighting for the 2 seed. We did win the district last year and with the game being played at Rock and with the way our defense has been playing. Also Bell has struggled to stop any team with a decent run game and Rock has more than a decent run game. Our o line play has been really good and we have talented speedy hard nosed running backs. I like our chances against Bell. Bell is not close to what they were last year and Rock is playing as good now as they did last year just with a different style of offense one that we are familiar with.

I believe Rock will win this game. I think mid 3rd quarter Rock will pull away.

Rock 35
Clay 21
Bell returned 10 of 11 defensive starters, and the varsity held perry to 2 field goals and whitley to two scores. Most of the county has threw out the north laurel loss to growing pains on offense, not knowing who they were going to play up front, and an old minded coach who forgot he couldn’t just give it to #4 when he was in trouble. It took a few games, but playing two tough scrimmage games, north and boyd early, has whipped the defense into shape. I swear if dudley hilton would ever adapt a special teams philosophy, Bell county would have 2 shut outs. The two touchdowns scored on bells starting defense in the last two weeks had drives start on the bell 45.

Rock will undeniably be tough at home, but when rockcastle rolled into bell last year, that young defense had never seen athletes like that. I doubt rock scores 40, and i doubt bell scores 40. But i will never say rock is fighting for 2nd. Should be an absolute blast when that time comes around. It’s always fun watching two teams turn around and hand it off 50 times a game.
