Yes, I understand. Not a big deal, and I usually agree with your basketball points, but I don't think South or North have three better guards than Roark. I'm not saying he's better than Mabe or Davidson, but Roark was Clay's second best player for much of that semifinal game against HC last March. Probably a moot point anyway because it would be very unusual to transfer a month into your senior year.

SL doesn't play a 3 guard lineup like most. He is not taking Rawllings position nor Brown/Howard because they shoot the 3 and space the floor well. Same for NL, he is not taking Jervis nor Jordan Rawlings position for the same reason. Roark is a nice player and I KNOW that feelers where sent prior to the Clay move and their was zero interest by either program. And as far as the transfer(same thing last year with a different Clay kid that the superintendant got involved with a salvaged the situation so while unusual it does happen)it sounds like you may not know what happened. I suggest checking WYMT if you don't know--pretty messy situation and I would think(and have heard) that a move is imminent. Maybe not, its all rumors until the season starts. The thing I want to know from you is since it is your area, did a Harlan city kid trans to HC and now go back to city?

He should go to Corbin. I don’t think they have much guard play returning.

Guard play is all they have coming back other than Eli at forward. Corbin will be way off this season compared to normal. If the young man transfers Wburg would be the best place. He would not start at either Laurel school.

If the Brown kid from WV  ever gets eligible, he could be nice addition for Coach P. Both he and the Salmons kid can get some stuff done on the hardwood. The cupboard is not bare at Corbin. The freshman, Akins, will make some waves this season.

The thing With Akins is from what I have been told by several around the program is that He and relatives have a much higher opinion of himself than his current ability allows. That is what the fire in Redhound nation comment from earlier in the summer was alluding to. Corbin this year will be a above average team but not what they are accumstomed to in my opinion.
