Harvest Prep 26 Ashland Blazer 10
#7
Even though it was a loss, this is a result that was better than I expected for Ashland. Harvest Prep beat powerhouse Pickerington Central on the road Week 1, so I was expecting no less than a four TD margin in this one in favor of HP. Their defense is lights out because they are quick at every position.

I look for Ashland to surprise a lot of people in 4A and potentially play in the state semis for a chance to go to Kroger depending on RPI. Considering what they went through before the season, it speaks a lot to Coach Tackett and the entire staff.

Offense has always been Harvest Prep's main issue. They aren't organized on that side of the ball and rely too much on pure speed and scoring on long plays offensively instead of being creative with playcalling and sustaining long drives. If HP allows more than 25 to any opponent they will have a hard time winning because their offense isn't consistent enough to sustain drives. Better playcalling and HP becomes the favorite to win the Division V State Championship in Ohio.
