Don't see the difference in what Raceland is doing now vs. what Fairview did 12-14 years ago, but you guys keep telling yourselves whatever it is that makes it a difference in your eyes I guess.

I do admire Raceland's tradition and passion for the game of football and I think they will break through and win a state title eventually. I do think other schools in the area could do more to keep kids at their school, and at Raceland it is clear that the passion is there.

Just proof that two things can be true. I just think it's funny that LCLion4Life is getting raked by you guys for sharing an opinion that is valid.
You are kidding right? What we are doing and what the West wild beagles were doing is daylight and dark dude! We don’t have an apartment complex we are putting kids in and we aren’t sending vans to Huntington to pick kids up and drop off from school either. We don’t recruit. And if we start we will be getting kids from the Huntington/columbus/Cincinnati area. Not the hotbed of football that is Lewis county. We would be getting kids good enough to beat Pikeville. The difference between the Pikeville area and this area is that up there the good players will go where they know they can win. Down here people hate us to much to transfer here to win a state title. Face it…..if you are at Ashland you ain’t winning ? because of Boyle and Corbin and Cov cath. Unless you fudge your student numbers and get put back in 3A again. Boyd co Russell and Greenup all have the same problem. So if I’m worth a shit I’m going to Raceland. If that makes any of you mad I don’t care. But to compare us to the scareview eaglets is just plain stupid.

Whether you get kids from Huntington and Charleston or you get kids from Lewis County, or transporting them from home and back or not but having contact with them to bring them to your school, it's recruiting all the same. That's a load of crap, so no, comparing you all to Fairview is not stupid. I would say calling them Scareview is silly by you, especially considering that they continue to play in district with their numbers situation. What they have done since 2013 is very commendable, especially when Fred Ray was there and now with Roy leading them despite not having the numbers they had.

I don't hate you guys; like I said, I admire your passion for the game. More schools around here need to have what Raceland has in terms of passion for the sport. I just find it funny that you guys think it's an apples and oranges situation when any recruiting is or should be frowned upon based on the rule. You guys are the ones who have more of the hate.

Rule doesn't stipulate that recruiting kids within a certain radius or area is okay, rule stipulates that recruiting, period, is wrong. I've seen Raceland posters post this as well like it is okay that you are getting players within a certain part of the region or whatever, that it makes it okay. No, it does not by the letter of the law.

Personally I wanted Cooper to come in and be the guy. I didn’t want to lose Ison at WR and DB. But atleast through the preseason, Ison looked like the best option. Waller throws a better ball, but doesn’t possess the same physical abilities that Ison does. I think by seasons end we will see all 3 of them getting snaps. Ison and Cooper give you more of a wildcat or dual threat QB. While Waller is more of a traditional pocket QB. I’ve really liked Cooper since day 1. Kid has a great attitude and works his ass off. He just didn’t pass the test to get the starting QB spot.

They were so mad. It was aggravating, because I felt Fairview was making NEKY football around here better with the guys they were bringing in and putting pressure on other teams. I didn't agree with what they were doing and I know others didn't either, but from 2010 to 2013 you had to be on your game to beat them, plus made other teams better in the process because you had to raise your game to beat them. They were legit during that timeframe.

I appreciate it buddy. And I completely agree with everything you said here. The passion is definitely there in Ramland and I do think they will win a state title eventually. Ram fans just get up in arms when outsiders comment on their team. Never fails.

Hope you're doing well! Good seeing you again on these forums! I hope Stamm can get the ship righted over there at LC, he was a good football player in his day.
