Statebound 19. Your answer about leaving. Yes. I’m gonna say you are right. They chose to leave when they were moved to 2nd string for reasons above the kids couldn’t control. Why were they moved to second string? Didn’t Hollon play in Perry Co once for the same reason? The worst thing besides being undisciplined is that parents coach. Parents need to set thier tails on the bleachers and support the team, not individuals.

Breathitt needs to be playing short term. Last state appearance was 2009. AD was the better short term solution, he proved that last Friday night. Plus, they would have kept his brother and family that have supported the program since the mid 90sl. Hollon would have been a better slot receiver maybe. He does deserve being on the field as he is an athletic kid and hard worker. Let him work his way up. Play Defense. The best QBs at Breathitt to go on and have success at the next level played Defense. Waylon and Justin. Players will play, no matter the position. Breathitt hasn’t been Breathitt football since 2010. Why? Leadership of the team, coaches and influence. The previous few years and even this year at Belfry they want to fight, play dirty and get penalties after the whistle. Pre 2010 they played between the whistles and got in the huddle to do it again. They were respected. Now they are the opposite. Can’t blame the kids. The kids will do what’s allowed. They need a coach led team for awhile, not a player led team intil they understand what Breathitt football is/was.

Congrats Perry! Maybe next time the cats won’t talk trash and give Perry all the bulletin board material the week of the game, posting pictures on social media and saying they “can't wait”. Maybe Just strap up and play the game. Old school disciplined football. Where you play the best players and they block and tackle. Between the whistle!
