This is an easy one.

Humans have known that the Earth is round for thousands of years, with the earliest documented mention of the concept dating back to around the 5th century BC in the writings of Greek philosophers. By 500 BC, most ancient Greeks believed the Earth was round, and Pythagoras first proposed a spherical Earth around that time. However, they didn't know how big the planet was until around 240 BC, when Eratosthenes developed a method to estimate its circumference.


Toddler Old School knew the earth was round from the time I looked up and saw the earth's shadow on the Moon during a lunar eclipse. I think I was about 5.  The earth's shadow is ROUND ,  not FLAT!

If the earth was flat , wouldn't the earth's shadow look like this during an eclipse :
