COVID years were also a special place in time unlike any other... no crowds, games getting canceled left and right, tons of player absences from the games and practices that occurred. It's kind of a disservice to count those as normal years as well. If they were like any others, there'd have been a State Tournament in 2020 and kids wouldn't have had the option to repeat-- can't fault them for playing within the parameters of the system they were handed.
