Me and my dad got to talking last night. Is there anyone that has King Kelly stories that they could share or anything?
I watched Wayland on YouTube play a state tournament game from 1956.  Both teams were horrible.  Neither could heat a decent girls team of today.  I seriously mean that. Watch it.  I’m sorry but Kelly Coleman was not impressive in the least. Shot a million shots.  Lots of air balls.  Shot off wrong foot on layups.  It took me forever to figure out which player was Kelly Coleman.  He would not be a starter on the weakest of teams from the modern era. I’m sorry but, just being honest. No organization on either team.  Just whom ever had the ball shot it.
So a player who was good enough to play in the NBA wouldn’t have started on the worst teams now? When people make this argument you also have to remember if they played today they’d also have access to the training and skill development facilities they didn’t back then and have the same coaching now. It’s like people saying Larry Bird couldn’t play in todays NBA.
