Pikeville 21 Raceland 0 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
#60

Pikeville special teams and the turnover numbers also counted. I think Pikeville had only 2 interceptions all year and doubled it today. Enjoy the championship, young men. You've worked extraordinarily hard this year on what was thought to be a rebuilding season, but you made it into a retooling season.
Raceland has turned the ball over quite a bit against better competition this year. Put in on the ground several times past few weeks. Knew a fumble was likely coming today with a wet football.  The interceptions was a bit of a surprise but not many teams try to throw a ton on Pikeville. They have the secondary to get more but teams have to throw more for them to have chances. They played a bunch of run heavy offenses. Campbellsville had some of the best balance and I think they beat Raceland if they would have played. State championship was won last week when Pikeville beat Campbellsville.
