They did throw a screen and it was there, the blocking was there. All that had to take place was a good throw but instead it was high, even for a tall receiver such as Ratliff and it went past him and hit the back of a player and popped up in the air into the arms of Hicks who took it back for a pick six. It was 100% on the quarterback. The right play call was there and he did not execute, plain and simple. People can try and blame it on coaches all they want but everything was in place for a big play and it did not happen.

So, it’s better to put blame on a high school kid than a coach?  I don’t think even if he threw a perfect pass that it would’ve resulted in a bigger play than they were getting running the ball, but maybe so.  I was just saying that if you know you struggle in the passing game, there are better play calls than a short pass that isn’t even going to stop the clock.
