Kentucky Wildcats 2023 Tourney Thread
#18
This team is SOS ---Sybil on Steroids.
While I like how this team has responded when its back is to the proverbial wall, they don't seem to act like there is any sense of urgency, even now. It's a weird, weird team. They are truly capable of beating anyone and just as capable of losing to anyone. With their penchant for inconsistency, I'm not confident they can string together four straight wins, not to mention six wins to win it all.

Cal mentioned in post-game presser that Jacob Toppin did not practice last week. Jack Pilgrim then asked Toppin about his "ailment"? Besides not knowing what the word "ailment" meant(Vandy players would have handled that one with ease), Jacob acted like he didn't know what in the hell Pilgrim was referring to about being hurt and not practicing. Did he practice or did he not? Who knows? Is Wheeler done or is he not? Who knows? They could have used him to stop the guard penetration of Vandy. Just weird, weird stuff.

One thing is clear. Vandy REALLY wanted this game. They wanted it WAY more than the UK players. I'm not saying that the KY kids didn't want to win because I think they did but Vandy wanted it a lot more. They played with a real sense of urgency. I like their team . They've gone from 9-12 to now 19-13 and one of the hottest teams in the country. They are also doing it without their best player, their big 7-footer , Liam Robbins.

Credit goes to Stackhouse. His guys have really bought in. They lost by 57 points to Alabama(that's right ---57 !!! ) and now they've beaten Kentucky twice in a little over a week before a mass of blue & white clad Cat fans. Congrats to the Commodores. Would love to see them win the SEC Tourney. Go 'Dores!!!
