Watched some of the Owensboro Catholic-Owensboro district final. Thought Catholic had the best player on the floor.

Taking in the final bits of Lyon County's rout of Hopkins Central as a nightcap. Lyons are more well-rounded than I remembered them being last year.

Jack, may I call you Wolfman?  You seem to watch a lot of HS hoops.

What was your impression of Corbin tonight? They certainly didn't play their best game but I thought ther defensive gameplan was excellent and I thought they executed it well. Controlled the tempo of the game, too, I thought.

Hahaha, you can call me whatever, I've definitely been called worse.

On Corbin, they have the make-up of the type of team that I usually like-- one with a lot of multi-sport kids. You could definitely tell that they had some football players. Very solid overall. If we're talking about how they'd play if they got to Lexington, a little undersized, but definitely capable. They play hard and didn't seem to make a lot of mistakes tonight. I also like teams who make their free throws in a tournament setting and was surprised at how poised Wells looked at the line (back to the multi-sport kids... they don't seem to get rattled).

Looked like a couple of times they had a bit of a tendency to pick up their dribble and I might worry about them turning the ball over a little too much against a quicker team. Would also wonder how well they could play from behind if you make a big run on them early and you can dictate their pace.

Don't think Barbourville really has the personnel to do it, but if I'm game-planning them, I'd probably want to play man-help with an eye on Llewellyn and hope I could make him finish over size if he gets all the way to the rim, otherwise making him a passer. I'm making sure that my team keeps bodies on everyone to keep them off the offensive glass. Other than situationally, I don't know that I'd pressure them unless I had the personnel to do it aggressively for the most or all of the game.

Again depends on personnel, but if I'm attacking them defensively, I'm probably looking to post-up a lot, even if it's to go inside-out, especially if the game is being called tight.

I think that they'll be a heavy favorite against Barbourville. Watching the Clay County-Barbourville game, I felt like the kid they'd need to slow down more than Messer was Turner.

All of the above is going to be from having seen them for about two and a half quarters tonight, so there's probably some gaps in the info, but that's most of what I took away from the evening.
