Didn’t this Belfry Sr class win the County as 8th graders? How are they this bad? I’m thinking the Freshman group and the current 8th grade group have now also won the Pike Co championships. Will these groups translate to better basketball at the high school level for Belfry or will the results be similar that you are seeing for this present senior class? Just curious as to why it doesn’t translate to any high school success?
As for Robinson, what an amazing performance. Heck of a game for that young man.

Sal Dean was the MVP for that team in middle school, he is now at Chapmanville (WV). I believe the Brown kid is the only player left from that team that played meaningful minutes. The Banks twins had left for Pikeville before the county tournament, but only one still plays basketball and he sat out this game.

Yeah losing Dean was probably a big hit. So in your opinion with what will be back to back county champion classes on the roster the next few years, will Belfry basketball be trending up and win a region or two?

I don't know if they win a region, but I think the only way they can go from here is up. I do believe IF, and that's a big if, the middle school team stays together through high school they could be very good and maybe win one.

I have a hard time believing all the middle schoolers go to high school at Belfry if middle school staff doesn’t go with them. I can’t see administration at Belfry allowing that. They are big reason program is in the shape it is.
