This is a very big deal, IMO. Rodgers is in the prime of his life and already has a ton of coaching experience. He's been an assistant head coach at Southwestern, one of the better programs in the state. Stoney moving on to another job was rough for a ton of fans, and recent alum. I honestly think this young guy is the absolute best option we could have had. Talent will be down a bit next year, then down for another, maybe 3 or 4 years. If we can get some kids out of the hallways that have quit we can still do well. I love the hire and having talked to him just a bit he's chomping at the bit to get started. I think we got lucky with this hire.
