Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Eier's hiring a "political job" in the first place?

I'm 99.9% positive he had a family member on the school board or administration at Whitley Co or some such thing, and despite far more qualified candidates applying for the job, he ended up getting the job.
