One of the important factors in kids playing games, is to allow the kids to function within a set of rules, even though they may not know why a certain rule exist. At the little league state tournament in Florida as the championship game was about to start, one of the teams bats was propped outside the dug out, the coach made a derogatory comment about the ref making a big deal out of the bat. The conversation escalated, as the ref explained the rule was there for players safety, and his job was to enforce the rules not to gauge whether he thinks they are valid, the coach rolled his eyes, made a smart comment as he turned away, and the coach was tossed. Every kid there learned a valuable lesson about following rules, and keeping your pie hole in check.
