There was no circumventing prior to July 2022 for 8th grade. I remember an 8th grade player back in the late 1990’s in another region, not the 16th, that played for his home county school on Tuesday and scored double figures and then scored in double figures for a different school in the next county 3 nights later, and didn’t change residence or anything, only uniform colors. I remember the principal of his new school saying they didn’t have to do anything because KHSAA bylaws did not apply to any grades below 9th. At least they didn’t back then. There was zero paper work to do, only the chore of making sure the new guy’s uniform fit him.
