HUGE game this week.  The past 3 years, this matchup has determined who would get the #2 seed behind West Carter.  Shelby Valley was the victor in 2019 and 2020, with Martin winning last year.  In all 3 years, the winning team in the regular season won again in a playoff rematch.

However, with West Carter down a bit, this game has even bigger stakes.  Whoever wins this Thursday will likely be the district winner, especially if it is Valley.  That would mean at least 2 home playoff games and avoiding Breathitt County in those games.

As for my prediction?  I'm going with the Wildcats.  These 2 teams may have identical records, but I believe Valley's schedule has been tougher and will have them better prepared for this matchup.  Martin will keep it close, but SV wins in the end by a couple touchdowns.
