Sports would be so much better in the region today without Ashland crying foul about everything. But they have done it for a span of 20 years.

This year reports Ironton and drops Ironton from schedule

Without Ashland, Fairview is still rolling with somebody and Rose Hill is a boys and girls basketball power (and may have even had football, a huge bunch of their kids that went to Ashland played there after playing football for Rose Hill in middle school). Makes the whole region better from a competitive standpoint, but Ashland can’t have that.

It goes deeper than just sports, the city of Ashland is just as bad about trying to stop growth in neighboring communities, particularly in Boyd County.  It really baffles me how people still want to live in that city and send their kids to school there with all of the problems that exist in the city of Ashland.
