It looks like McNamee is going to split reps between Duty and Boykins at QB. Their run game is way ahead of the passing game, but that was expected. Panthers were able to run the ball pretty well on JC. Boykins give JC fits many times throughout the scrimmage. Duty is going to get better throwing the ball. He has a big arm and with more reps and experience the passing game is going to come around. Defensively Pikeville was swarming to the ball well and did a good job for the most part, especially in the second half of the scrimmage.

Johnson Central

They looked a played like your typical JC team to me. Reeled off some big runs, broke tackles, and moved the chains. Turnover at the goal line can't happen. Defensively the Eagles looked good and got into the backfield several times and made plays. I don't believe they showed their hand too much, basically run the same plays throughout the scrimmage.

I think the two teams were very comparable, both run the ball really well and play good defense. Both teams are as solid as you would expect and are worthy of their preseason expectations.
Sounds like 2 evenly matched teams. If Pikeville gets good play from new QBs they will be really hard to beat in class A this year.
As long as Boykins stays healthy and Duty and the passing game improves, no one in class A will stop Pikeville's offense. It'll be a nightmare to prepare for by playoff time.
