Region player of the years can only be given to seniors. These are all grades.

That didn't preclude him from being on the list as some seniors are on it. Fact is, not enough of the 270 some coaches (or at least those voting) felt like he belonged on it. Probably a lot of coaches watched the All A and Sweet 16 and formed their opinion as to how to vote. Don't know.
