Today John Calipari released a statement saying that the #1 player in the class of 2022 who had early enrolled this semester at Kentucky would not be playing for this years team.
"After talking with Shaedon and his parents, we want to end all of the speculation by again saying that he will not play for us this season. He is committed to bettering himself and our team in practice this year and being better prepared to lead us next season."
The Kentucky staff long with Sharpe's camp have stood by the idea that the 6'5 guard would be returning to Kentucky next season to lead the 2022-2023 team. With that being said, several NBA mock drafts have Sharpe projected as a lottery pick in the upcoming draft.
