Even Gray knows he can’t win but he’ll throws out cliches like “I love my team” in order to save face.  It’s code words for don’t get mad cause we’re terrible.  He thought he could coach just enough to win at least one regional title with the group that graduated last year but he couldn’t even get to the regional finals with them.  He sucks and the kids have no faith in him nor does anyone else.  He stayed this year so the chairman wouldn’t have to eat crow.  The chairman thought Gray would win 1-2 regional titles over the last 3 years but the truth is the chairman don’t know Jack about basketball.  As the old saying goes “ignorance is bliss”

Pietrowski says that after every game ,whether its after a 26 pt win over Clay or a 31 pt loss to North Laurel---and I believe him. What makes you think Gray doesn't love his team?

When you compare Gray to people like Pietrowski or heck even Brad Sizemore you have no knowledge of anything about sports.  My teenage daughter can sit on Clay's bench and do just as good if not better than Gray has done in the past 5 years.  He literally had a team in his 3rd year that with any of the coaches you have named would have won a regional title and with a good draw...could have made a strong showing at state.  When Jacob Curry was a Senior there is no reason whatsoever that team doesn't win the region but we all know what happened.  The saddest thing about it is he will be the coach for as long as he wants it or as long as Sexton wants him to be.  He didn't want to coach this year but they had one person who was wanting it and "they" meaning the board begged him to come back because they didn't want to give it to the person wanting it.  Sexton and the board can build their football stadiums and fields and all that is good for the school and program but without a leader it means nothing.  I'm done commenting on these dumb posts about how Gray is a good coach because anyone with a brain knows better.
