The Democrat Party does not have any moderate Senators. Socialists have firm control over the party and Senators like Manchin and Sinema are liberals who belong to a socialist party. It is so strange to see a straight party line Republican voter* make post after post supporting a party dominated by socialists.

what are talking about Hoot? Manchin and Sinema are your kind of socialists.  You know the ones that take advantage of govt. subsidies and send more breaks to the cooperations.

Corporations are nothing but associations composed of people, Cardfan1. When you raise taxes on corporations, you raise taxes on their shareholders, employees, and consumers of their goods and services. Demonizing corporations and advocating their punishment through higher taxes is stupid, but it is what liberals and socialists do on a regular basis.

Socialism never helps Americans. As Friedman said, there is no such thing as a free lunch and as Lady Thatcher said, the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Unless you make millions and billions…then you can get all the free lunch you want on the taxpayer’s dime. 

What does it feel like to vote against your own interests?  We have been in this atrocious state of Reaganomics for 40 years of favoring corporations over people.  We have watched wages remain stagnant for middle class and low class Americans while ceos and wealthy have seen their packages and pay explode.  You must be at the top of a corporation, Hoot?  What the hell are you doing on this rinky dink message board (no hate BGR—didn’t know we had millionaires on here) if you’re making millions and billions?

Metaphors are lost on you, Cardfan1. When Milton Friedman said there was no free lunch, he meant that somebody pays for every government benefit. When you are gullible enough to fall for the socialist notion that you can punish large corporations by making them pay more taxes, then many people will pay those taxes. Corporations pass tax increases through to the people who pay them. That is why hiking corporate tax rates contributes to inflation. You cannot increase the cost of doing business in this country without increasing the cost of goods and services purchased by Americans.

Whether you are a millionaire, billionaire, or as Joe Biden said, "trillionaire," you have no immunity to higher prices. Increasing corporate tax rates imposes additional hidden taxes on you and me, whether you are smart enough to realize it or not. Corporations are handy scapegoats for politicians. Democrats demonize corporations, as Hitler demonized Jews.
