I'm of the opinion that the Pikeville Hazard game in the playoffs last year was the biggest playoff upset in the history of KY HS football. Some of you more versed in the history of our sport may be able to weigh in on a bigger upset, but it would take a very compelling argument to convince me. No way something like that happens to the same great team 2 years in a row.

That win last year for Hazard was an upset, but wasn’t that big of an upset. Pikeville was beatable last year and there loss to Campbell County proved it. Hazard has an okay record at Pikeville in the playoffs. Hazard upset Pikeville in 2006 too. So it’s not like it’s not been done before. Hazard had a terrible start to the year last year. Lost several players via transfer and injuries, lost practice time thanks to Covid that set them back. They got to finally playing good at the end of the schedule like ur suppose to do for a playoff run. Hazard may of lost the next game after that Pikeville win, but they did however get beat by the champs.
They didn’t just get beat the next game. It was probably the most dominant performance in the Chirico era especially for a  3rd round of the playoffs game. I don’t think they had a 1st down until the JV was playing.

Anyways, I doubt Pikeville let’s that happen this year. Just run the ball with your stud and behind that experienced OLine.
