I'm of the opinion that the Pikeville Hazard game in the playoffs last year was the biggest playoff upset in the history of KY HS football. Some of you more versed in the history of our sport may be able to weigh in on a bigger upset, but it would take a very compelling argument to convince me. No way something like that happens to the same great team 2 years in a row.
I think the talent gap in that game supports your argument. Hazard played their “A” game and Pikeville slept walked for 4 quarters.

In 2014 Paintsville lost to Pikeville 62-8 in 2nd game of the season then beat Pikeville 30-6 in the 2nd round of the playoffs. However, talent wise, 2014 Paintsville would beat 2020 Hazard by 4 scores.

Raceland and Paintsville are the only 2 Class A teams that can stay on the field with Pikeville. If Pikeville gets beat by one of those teams it wouldn’t compare to what happened last year vs Hazard but it would be a sizable upset.

comical.
