When I played middle school football back in the leather helmet days we actually had high school players ref our games. IMO it cost us a county championship my 8th grade year, but even professional refs make bad calls.

There’s some refs in particular I’m not a big fan of, whether it’s ineptitude or just being to lazy to actually learn the rules correctly. That being said at the end of the day I’m grateful for the job they do, it’s a thankless job and all jokes and politics aside I hope they get the situation rectified for the kids sake anyways. The kids have been through enough with Covid the last couple years they should enjoy some normalcy this upcoming school year.
