Good move for him and for the school. The talent is walking through the hallways, can he get them out on the field? Will they compete for state every year? Not likely, but there's no reason to believe they couldn't field a top 10 6A team every year. GRC has some of the nicest facilities in the state and now they've added a coach that can compete. It'll take time, but he can have success at GRC.

Great post and I agree, GRC will probably never be a true 6A State Champion contender vs Trinity, Male and the likes but they should be competing for District and Regional titles with the talent they have had coming through the program.  1 - They have to keep the talent at GRC.  2 - they need to start a wrestling program (to not have one at a 6A school that close to Lexington is just crazy.  3.  Administration has to get out of the hire a new coach every 3 years mentality.  Having gotten to know Coach Chirico the last few years and his situation, this is the perfect fit for him and for GRC.
