Weak fallacy on so many levels.

Your false comparison ignores the fact that the United States under the Trump Administration ---in a demand of freedom (or money)-- has killed half a million people, and doomed who know how many to a painful, shortened life.  It's not close to the rest of the world.

This administration deserves a shot at trying to slow the spread.  If we have to shutter travel for a few weeks, so be it.  We can't start all over with these variants and be sitting in the same spot we are now starting 2022.

Technically, even your false comparison isn't true because, sadly, Americans will still shoot themselves and their loved ones.
Comrade Cardfan, you and Comrade vector must have been classmates. Here is your homework for the day. Lookup "fallacy," "analogy," "comparison," "hypothetical," and "scenario" and explain the differences in meaning between the words. You never answered my question, in part, probably because you did not understand it. Pro tip: do not use words in your posts that you do not understand. Before you know it, you will be able to answer questions like the one below using words that you understand.

If nobody ever left their homes again, the virus would cease to be a threat and gun violence would eventually disappear as well. Would you support such a law, Comrade Cardfan, if China Joe supported it?
I did answer your question.  It would not disappear.
Gun Violence and Covid is a weak analogy.  You get that right?

Also, I am fully aware of the definition of all of those terms, and the usage of each.  Hooter, you are far from a pro.  For one, you obviously don't understand that fallacies undermine your argument.  You use them all the time.
I don't always point them out, because I come to BGR to have spirited discussion not to school you on rhetoric and mechanics.  To me this is an informal message board, but to each their own I guess.
You come to BGR to repeat whatever lies that Democrats feed you for the day. I did not present gun violence as an analogy for COVID. You never answered the question. Just how many constitutional rights would you surrender to comply with the edicts of an authoritarian Democrat governor or president? Freedom to travel between states without being harassed by the federal government is a pretty basic right that we enjoy as Americans. Surrendering such a basic right without a fight is one of the things that greased the skids for Hitler's subjugation of Germany.

Big Grin
That’s some irony considering this thread was started by you with a hack article from the kooky Epoch Times.

ok, whatever you say, Hooter.
Are you asking if I would give up guns for the end of gun violence?
Uhhh yeah. And I like my guns.

Would I give up interstate travel for a month or so for Covid to go away?  Uhhh yeah. And I want my Spring Break.

Some of us have given up a lot for this pandemic.  Some of us have not which explains why we are where we are.

Try not to be too disingenuous, Hooter.  The Biden Administration will coordinate with states much like the Trump administration did the first 15 days of this Pandemic, and this is won’t be the slide into Fascism or Communism that keeps you up at night.

FWIW, you do know those are different sides of the political spectrum, right?
